A visit to the heart of NTN’s expertise in rotating machine monitoring
In March 2024, an ASTRIIS delegation visited the NTN Corporation research and development centre in Nagoya, Japan. The visit provided an opportunity to share respective expertise in wind turbine monitoring tools and to deepen the collaboration already established with the NTN group, whose French subsidiary NTN-SNR is one of ASTRIIS’s earliest clients. Preventive maintenance and early fault detection on critical rotating machines were at the heart of the exchange.

Smart Manufacturing Summit 2024: Franco-Japanese industry 5.0 in action
On this occasion, the team also took part in the Smart Manufacturing Summit, a brand-new event dedicated to industry 5.0 in Japan, held from 13 to 15 March 2024 at Aichi Sky Expo. Organised alongside the Global Industrie trade fair, the summit brought together European and Japanese stakeholders around the challenges of smart manufacturing, industrial predictive maintenance and innovation. For ASTRIIS, a specialist in rotating machine monitoring using vibration analysis and artificial intelligence, events such as this are essential for staying at the forefront of global technological developments.
A springboard for ASTRIIS’s international predictive maintenance strategy
These encounters gave ASTRIIS valuable visibility in the Japanese market, where manufacturers set the highest standards for industrial reliability. They confirm the international positioning of the Grenoble-based start-up, already present in South America, and illustrate its ability to forge strategic partnerships with major players in the global industry. The automatic detection of mechanical faults up to 18 months before a breakdown is a decisive argument for Japanese industrialists, renowned for their zero-defect quality requirements.
