Applications Areas
Rotating machinery is at the heart of all industrial and energy sectors. An unanticipated failure means production downtime, high repair costs, and sometimes safety risks. ASTRIIS solution adapts to each environment to continuously monitor your critical equipment, detect anomalies as early as possible, and give you time to act before a failure occurs.
Energy
Our predictive maintenance solution is particularly well-suited for monitoring turbines and generators used in electricity production—whether wind, nuclear, gas, or hydroelectric. It can also be deployed to monitor pumps and motors in certain power plants.
The technical performance of our solution for monitoring rotating machinery has already been proven in the wind energy sector, one of the most demanding environments: high speed variability, high vibration levels, etc. Therefore, it is perfectly suited to other industries, where the constraints are generally less complex.
The value of our solution is primarily measured by the breakdowns avoided, particularly in terms of months of downtime and production losses saved.

Wind Energy
Our solution is positioned as an alternative to traditional Condition Monitoring Systems (CMS) on the market. It offers significantly superior detection performance, combining increased reliability, earlier anomaly identification, and more in-depth diagnostics.
The most frequently detected faults are located in the main bearings, the gearbox, or the high-speed shaft.
Key advantages of ASTRIIS solution for wind energy:
A software solution capable of interfacing with any existing CMS sensor or data set, requiring no additional hardware investment. Ideal for heterogeneous monitoring of your wind farm;
Technology that adapts to variable and unstable speeds, as well as the different operating regimes of the wind turbine;
Integrated wind turbine kinematics within our solution, enabling precise identification of the faulty component and highly accurate localization of the anomaly.
Examples illustrating the performance of our solution:
Main bearing fault detected 17 months before failure.
Context:The wind turbine was out of service for a year following the failure of the main bearing. Vibration monitoring data from the two years prior to the failure were analyzed by AStrion.
Our solution: The analysis shows that Astrion would have detected the fault 17 months before the failure, allowing maintenance to be planned in advance and avoiding the turbine’s prolonged downtime.
Early fault Detection and Identification
Context: A fault in the high-speed shaft bearing of a wind turbine was identified during maintenance in May 2025.
Our Solution: AStrion analysis of available vibration signals revealed the fault in the BPFI of a high-speed shaft bearing nearly 8 months before the intervention and 5 months before the triggering of standard alarms (VDI 3834 standard).
Hydroelectricity
Monitoring the turbine and generator of a hydroelectric power plant is a natural use case for ASTRIIS technology, which integrates easily and delivers reliable, in-depth analysis.
Our solution enables the precise detection and characterization of the following anomalies: bearing defects, imbalances, misalignments, and gear defects. It also detects turbine cavitation, electromagnetic faults, and hydraulic faults.

Unlike traditional spot monitoring methods, which are often limited by:
Only a few minutes of vibration per year are taken into account, with the risk of missing a fault that develops continuously;
The systematic dispatch of a technician to perform these readings, with the associated costs.
The major advantage of the continuous monitoring system offered by ASTRIIS is that it provides a viable solution regardless of the size of the power plant, provided that the right technical and economic balance is found for this continuous monitoring.
At this stage, applications for monitoring dam structures are currently in the exploratory phase.

Industry
Our solution is ideal for ensuring continuous monitoring of all critical rotating machinery in your industrial processes. Whether they are crushers, mixers, dryers, rotary kilns, motors, pumps, paper machines, etc., detecting breakdowns in advance helps prevent resulting production downtime.
In the industrial sector, the usual practice is to perform spot checks, with the following limitations:
These spot checks only capture a few minutes of vibration per year and can easily miss a defect that develops continuously;
These checks require a technician to travel to the site each year, along with the associated costs.
The benefit of the continuous monitoring offered by ASTRIIS is therefore quite clear.
Transport
In the transportation sector, motors and rotating equipment are ubiquitous, and ASTRIIS technology is particularly relevant for monitoring them and minimizing breakdowns, which is essential for maintaining optimal service levels.

Possible applications:
Cable transport is a simple technical application of our technology, with monitoring at the drive and return levels.
Potential applications include embedded systems in rail, aeronautics, naval, defense, and even automotive applications. These applications are more complex and require prior technical validation through proof-of-concept studies.
